Colette McKune retires as CEO

ForHousing CEO, Colette McKune MBE, has announced her retirement.

Colette took over as CEO at ForHousing, which owns 24,000 homes, in 2019, steering the organisation through the COVID-19 pandemic.

She had previously been Deputy Chief Executive since 2015 and worked at ForHousing for the last 14 years.

Mike Parkin will take over as Interim CEO. Mike has been at the organisation since August 2014, and has been Chief Operating Officer since June 2019.

Paul Kennedy, Chair of the Board at ForHousing, said: “We’d like to thank Colette for everything she’s done for ForHousing.

“She has helped steer us through one of the most challenging times imaginable during the COVID-19 pandemic, and has set a clear vision within ForHousing and across the wider sector on key issues such as decarbonisation, homelessness, and equity, diversity and inclusion.

“Throughout her time as CEO she has been dedicated to improving lives and making more things possible for more people. We wish her the very best for the future.”

Colette says she is planning to spend more time with her family.

“It is the right time to hand over the reins to a new leader at ForHousing,” said Colette, who was awarded an MBE in 2015 for her services to housing and the community.

“I would like to thank everybody that I’ve worked with since I joined the organisation 14 years ago.

“I’m incredibly proud of our achievements working with tenants and partners to have a positive and lasting impact on communities.”Â
